Problems and fixes

Find your symptom. Work down the list until it's fixed.

You haven't deployed anything yet. A fresh install has no equipment in it — nothing exists until you build in the editor and run /nxe applyedit. Work through Your first deploy.

The plugin won't start

Console says “Licence required”. You haven't put your key in. Open plugins/NxEquipement/config.yml, replace YOUR_KEY_HERE with your key, restart.

Console says “Licence error”. The key was rejected. Check for a typo — copy it straight from your dashboard. If it says the key was reported from two servers, it's suspended; unban it yourself from the dashboard.

Console says the licence server is unreachable. Nothing to do. The plugin runs normally and retries quietly in the background.

The pencil and sliders icons are greyed out

You don't have a piece open. Click a set, then click a piece card inside it. Both light up.

My armour looks like plain iron in game

Almost always the resource pack.

Did you apply it? Run /nxe confirm, or rejoin and click the chat button.
Did you rebuild after painting? Press Build pack again and deploy.
Do you have another pack active that's replacing this one? See Merge with other plugins.
Check Options → Resource Packs in your client and make sure the server pack is enabled.

It looks right worn, but it's a plain item in my inventory

You painted the armour but never made the inventory icon. Open the piece, switch to Display, press Generate from model, then Generate. Rebuild and deploy. See The inventory icon.

The Build button won't build

Read the orange warnings under the button.

“max durability cannot be combined with a stack size above 1” — set Max Stack Size back to 1 on the Stats tab.
“nothing painted” — make the inventory icon, as above.
“A prefix is below…” — press the dice next to the prefix to get a proper number.

Players get “Failed to download resource pack”

Is your link a direct download? Paste it into a private browser window. If a web page loads instead of a file downloading, that's your problem. See Host the pack yourself.
Is the SHA-1 hash current? Rebuilding changes the file, so the old hash no longer matches.
Is the port open? If RSPM is self-hosting, its HTTP port must be reachable from the internet.
Did you deploy more than an hour ago? The editor's copy is cleaned up after an hour. Deploy again.

Another plugin's items broke when I added NxEquipements

Two packs are fighting. Merge them — see Merge with other plugins. If something's still wrong after merging, move that plugin above NxEquipements in priorityOrder and run /rspm reload.

If it shows as a barrier block saying “Build failed”, the piece's base material is invalid — open the Stats tab and pick a proper Base Material, then rebuild.

If it isn't there at all, the deploy didn't include it. Check it's ticked on the Build & Export screen, rebuild and deploy again.

My wolf/horse armour seems to vanish when I equip it

It hasn't. Mob armour goes into the animal's body slot, which has no visible square in your inventory. Put it on the animal itself and it'll be there.

Bedrock players see vanilla armour

Expected for wolf, horse and harness — Bedrock can't show those. For everything else work through Bedrock and Geyser, especially the full server restart.

“Editor locked” when I open my link

The link expired, was already used, or you typed the address by hand. Run /nxe editor for a fresh one.

My sets vanished from the editor

Are you in the same browser? Sets are stored per browser.
Did you clear browser data? Run /nxe editor — the editor pulls the copies your server kept.
Still nothing? Import your .nxe backup. See Save, share and import sets.

An option in this guide isn't on my screen

Press Show advanced settings at the top right of the Configuration screen. It hides more than half of the options.

A setting seems to do nothing

A few options need a newer server than 1.21.4 — equip on interact needs Paper 1.21.5+, and shearing needs Paper 1.21.6+. On older servers they're ignored and you get vanilla behaviour.
