HUDs

A HUDs project holds two kinds of canvas:

  • Always-on HUD — on screen while players play. It steps aside while a menu is open.
  • Popup — shown by command for a few seconds (0.5 to 600; 3 by default), over the HUD. Players can't click popups.

Who sees which HUD

In Build & Deploy → HUD rules, each HUD gets conditions — world, permission, game mode, health, hunger, XP level, underwater, or any value. First match wins, and players who match nothing get the Default. A HUD chosen by command (/nxgui hud show) wins over the rules, and is remembered per player.

Popups

/nxgui popup show <popup> <player|*> [values…]

The values fill %nxgui_arg_1%, %nxgui_arg_2% … in the popup's text. One popup shows at a time; others wait their turn (up to 8).

/nxgui popup show nexo_hud:reward Steve "Daily reward" "+250 coins"

Hide vanilla HUD parts

Turn on Hide vanilla HUD in an always-on HUD's Preferences. It hides the parts picked on the Settings page — hotbar, hearts, food, armor, air, XP, crosshair and more — only for the players that HUD is showing to. They come back in menus and when the HUD goes.

Show and hide parts by command

Give a HUD element an ID in the inspector, then:

/nxgui hud item hide <hud> <id> [player|*]/nxgui hud item show <hud> <id> [player|*]

These choices are saved per player.

Read a player's HUD

PlaceholderValue
%nxgui_hud%The HUD the player has now, like nexo_hud:survival, or none
%nxgui_hud_item_<id>%true while the element with that ID shows on it

Through PlaceholderAPI, so other plugins can read them too — a settings menu can show whether the HUD is on.

Bedrock

Show on Bedrock in a HUD's Preferences builds it into the Bedrock pack too — see Bedrock.
